With fall comes apple picking, and time to put away veggies and fruits from the summer. Well, this girlie is terrified of pressure cookers, so I stay away from canning. But we still wanted to be able to put fruits and veggies up for later. What a predictament! That was until I was sent an Excalibur Dehydrator to test out and review. When it comes to what you can dehydrate there is amost no limits. Our favorite is cinnamon apples and beef jerky. So much money is saved when we do it at home ourselves. We have also done grapes and made raisins (this was a LONNNGGG dehydrating time) and they tasted extra yummy! The oatmeal raisin cookies we made with them were a huge hit at a neighbors party. And an added bonus to dying the fruits and other tems at home is the money you save by doing it yourself. On average you will save 1/10th the cost of purchasing it already dried.
